Sun Oven arrives in Bujumbura

GLO has sourced a Sun Oven for New Generation (NG), which marks the launch of the bakery project.

The Sun Oven has been hand built in the USA, and will be used to primarily provide bread and cooked food on a daily basis for many street children living in and around Muyinga. The bakery will also bake for the local community and profits will be re-invested into New Generation's Street Children's program.

In a country where the majority of people cannot afford the cost of fuel for cooking, and natural resources such as wood are being restricted for burning, a Sun Oven uses that most natural of resources - the sun.
