Changing lives in Burundi

GLO is a network of passionate followers of Jesus who are reaching out to meet the spiritual and physical needs of the last, the lost and the least in Burundi, Central Africa.

Our approach is to identify local leaders of the highest integrity and calibre, and forge strategic partnerships with their organisations to empower them to lead the way in transforming the country at multiple levels. The results we are seeing are extremely exciting and encouraging despite Burundi’s many challenges as a desperately needy nation trying to overcome the effects of many years of war. Below gives an indication of our focus and range of involvement:

• Evangelism and discipleship through schools and churches countrywide
• Sponsoring for street children and orphans
• Establishing sustainable projects in communities
• Fighting the AIDS pandemic through education
• Building a conference centre for income generation, as well as schools and medical facilities
• Developing business initiatives to kickstart the economy
• Financing where there are no other sources available and ensuring funds are appropriately used
• Equipping and encouraging informed dialogue between Christians and other faiths in a loving and non-confrontational way
• Training in outreach and leadership development
