Conference centre

Partering with Scripture Union (SU), GLO bought a piece of land in Bujumbura and is building a conference centre.

Bujumbura is the location for many conferences in Burundi but facilities are limited. GLO's aim is to support SU in establishing state-of-the-art facilities to generate income that can be recycled into SU's work serving the local churches.

The conference centre will be used for a wide range of purposes, including:

Evangelistic outreach through our partnership with all the churches
Bible-training for pastors
Conferences for NGOs and UN agencies
Seminars both in-house for our AIDS project as well as for other groups
Youth evangelistic and Bible-teaching camps
Partnership with the various GLO partners: New Generation street children's project, APRID (Muslim evangelism), UGGB (university work, the local branch of IFES), and Youth for Christ
Facilities for visiting Bible-teachers, missionaries, etc

Plans for the building

The conference centre will consist of:

Two conference rooms - one for four hundred people, the other for fifty people
Offices above the conference rooms
A three-storey thirty-bedroom guesthouse with restaurant facilities

Emmanuel Citegets is the building project manager, and he overseas the quality of work and materials.
