SU REPORT OF OCTOBER 2011 Children Ministry: Ephraim is involved in Kidsgames plan of Christmas. He also came at KCC to challenge volunteers about Children ministry. ‘’The motto is Strong Sunday school, strong Church’’. Among 42 volunteers, 10 were for Children Ministry and 32 for youth ministry. Youth and evangelism ministry In Muyinga, FECABU church was visited and 5 people accepted the Lord for the first time. In the same province, one of our volunteers called Java taught good news to his colleague who was a drunkard soldier, he confessed his sexual sins and gave up alcohol; he is witnessing in the camp and in churches of Muyinga. His name is Ildephonse Nkurunziza, a sergeant in the army In Kirundo, the Free Methodist church was visited and 18 new Christians accepted the lord. Major Bizimana Félix, an officer of the National army accepted the lord and he thanked the lord for God’s protection. He said: God has showed his protection, his love and his mercy before I knew him. It is a great joy to know and love the one who loved me before”. This shows that the SU vision is not limited in churches and high schools only but also in military camps and prisons. Rev. Augustin, the SU central –East coordinator was solicited to go frequently in the big prison of Gitega to reach prisoners by Good news. We praise God for his hand upon him. This period was a special month to reach and proclaim Good news in high schools as it was a period of bible clubs opening. We visited the Mageyo high school in rural Bujumbura and prayed for Bible club leaders. The number of students was 40 and 5 leaders were elected. The high school of Muberure is growing in rural Bujumbura, they are now 80 people. Despite the problem of insecurity prevailing in those areas, they are united and full of joy of our Lord. In Bujumbura the SU staff and volunteers are devoured by the zeal of the Ministry, 41 volunteers were being trained about the Vision , Mission, Aims, Activities, Statement of belief, Working principles, Hermeneutic principles in order to spread Good News in schools. In Gitega, 25 schools gathered and 600 students came in the meeting. After the message delivered by Simon Guillebaud, all of them accepted to take the baton and go with the message of Jesus wherever they are. We are saved not only to rejoice in the Lord when everything is ok but also to rejoice in troubles. We will face oppositions, false teachings but we must continue and achieve the race. We stayed at Youth for Christ’s Future Hope Centre and we enjoyed a lovely warm welcome from the YFC staff, we benefited of this opportunity to show a movie to around 30 orphans living in that centre in order to share the love of our lord Jesus. It was also a good testimony of our partnership. 500 persons watched Bunyan’s Pilgrim progress film at ETS Kamenge and 40 responded but 15 of them accepted Jesus as their personal saviour. Kibenga, Kanyosha, Musaga were 2 schools visited this month and we thank God for the joy they have to receive the message of God Bible Ministry The staff of SU spent a week at Kiremba to finalise the ‘’Daily Guide ‘’notes. We praise God that the book is in the printing house and that we will have it before the end of November. |
