Our People

GLO’s motto is to ‘identify, equip and empower the best local leaders of passion, integrity, gifting and vision for the transformation of Burundi, bottom-up and top-down.’ Our staff, trustees and supporters are joined together in this vision, working as one team for this goal.

I love GLO because of the way it makes sure that resources from overseas are used strategically across Burundi, in partnership with capable ministry leaders.

Charlotte Hutchinson GLO Trustee

I love being a trustee because I love our GLO partners. Their courage and determination in incredibly challenging circumstances never ceases to inspire me.

GLO is ‘serving’ very needy people with a team pulled together from all walks of professional life for a real world purpose. GLO demonstrates that ‘serving’ is a two-way street – it would be arrogant for us to think that we are serving the needy, when we are also ‘needy’ and are greatly blessed in doing this.

Rosie Hopley GLO trustee

Rosie Hopley

I was drawn towards GLO by seeing how much the team rely on prayer and God’s leading. The heart to see people raised up into leadership is fantastic, and it’s wonderful to hear testimonies of lives radically changed.

Justin Hill GLO Trustee

Annette Binney Trustee

Annette Binney

Chair of the US Board

When you travel to Burundi you see a beautiful country of people with faith, determination and vision to better their country, but extremely limited resources. It brings to mind Matthew 25:45 where Christ says, 'if you did not do it for the least of these, you did not do it for me.' The heart and desire are in Burundi but the resources aren't. We can change that, I am blessed to be part of a ministry, that is prayerfully and financially supporting my Burundian brothers and sisters in Christ.

I love that the emphasis of GLOs work is aimed at transformation of the entire nation of Burundi, not just one segment, so that it may in turn, be a blessing to other nations. Additionally, engagement in this work is an avenue to walk out the biblical call of servanthood through the sharing of our talents and treasures.

Burundi's plight and the strength of the GLO team presented me with a great opportunity to get actively and passionately engaged. Simon and Onesphore as leaders stretch everyone around them to do more, and the strategic long-term focus of GLO's partners in Burundi make it easy to get excited and be involved.

Partnering with this amazing organization and the beautiful Burundian people has shown me the power of knowledge, the insanity of obedience, and generosity in the face of starvation resulting in great advances for the Kingdom of God!
