Our cow project is all about creating a sustainable food supply for the most vulnerable.
Visionary project leader, Evariste, is a highly qualified organic agriculturist. Evariste recognised that a key source of malnutrition in rural areas is the inefficiency of milk production through traditional Burundian ankole cows. Over the past few years, he has imported over 400 Friesian and Jersey cows which produce 16 times the amount of milk as local cows. The project buys back this milk and distributes it amongst hospitals, orphanages, slum communities and refugee camps. The project is benefitting over 5000 people.
