Working together for the peace of Burundi
"One body, many parts" is an apt description of this beautiful united project where Christian organisations come together to give their best skills, influence and experience to a united project for peace. Ranging from media broadcasting to millions, to high level diplomacy and grassroots rallies gathering thousands of young people, this is incredibly strategic work. It's wonderful to see the way Christians from different tribes and backgrounds or denominations can work together so well with such a great outcome.
CIP benefits individuals, families, communities, work place, churches and in fact, the whole country!
Recent Stories of Transformation
Our teams have been working to protect young people from despair and getting involved in violence. One young man had brought his livestock to the City to sell so he could flee the country but with our support, has been able to stay and continue to build his life in Burundi.
Another young lady, Agnes*, 22, says, "One day my father and my mother decided to kill me but I escaped. I was not sure that I am a human being like others but now I understand that I am one. Jesus is all in all. My parents refused to accept me, they rejected me and I sometimes I had nowhere to live. Before this training (by GLO partner, CAPAMI), I was not sure that I am a human being like others but now I understand that I am one. Jesus is all in all."
