Born out of a vision to change a nation by Graciella Ntahiraja (Gaga), she has launched this new foundation with a heart to truly connect both the diaspora and leaders across Burundi with the country they call home.
In Kirundi, the native language of Burundi, the word Muhira simply means Home. So the name is everything!
There are so many who have left the country over recent decades. Some of them went through the heartache of civil war and unrest, so they fled to safer spaces. Others have sought better opportunities for financial gain and family stability. But either way, they still look back towards the nation of their birth, wanting to see it climb out of the turmoil and hardship. So through Muhira Connect, Gaga is driving for a change that will re-engage the diaspora to help them pray, give and even return, in order to see Burundi in a place of blessing once again.
As a first phase, Gaga is investing time and energy in bringing leaders or organisations across the region together through networking events – uniting their hearts and sharing her vision. Many of these established organisations have established connections across the world, so this is a natural pathway to reach Muhira Connect’s target audience.
For the future, there is a very real expectation to see significant investment, connection and opportunities for those looking back towards their homeland. Join us as we pray for this next exciting season of ministry in a place so many call HOME!
