Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF)
Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) is a Bible-centred organisation dedicated to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with children and helping them grow in faith through discipleship and integration into local churches for Christian living.
CEF Burundi collaborates with churches, schools, and Christian organisations to promote child evangelism, offering high-quality training for Sunday school teachers and church leaders. It has operated in Burundi since 1952.
Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) Burundi advances its mission through Bible-centred literature tailored to local contexts. These resources include Bible lessons for children’s workers in clubs and programmes, as well as visual aids in various formats. The materials are designed to cover a wide range of Scripture, enabling children to learn foundational truths about God. Devotional and evangelistic resources are also provided to supplement teaching in clubs and other settings, helping children grow in their knowledge of God and His Word.
Methods of outreach include weekly classes, annual Summer events, street outreach, radio and TV broadcasts, and the innovative ‘Tel-a-story’ – a scheme which allows children to ring a phone number to hear a short Bible story.
By partnering with local churches and leveraging community networks, CEF Burundi ensures its programmes not only evangelise children but also establish them in Christian living and integrate them into supportive faith communities.
