The Global Leadership Summit (GLS), hosted by GLO partner UCCD, has become a hugely impactful resource to people in all kinds of leadership roles across Burundi. 

The inspiration for these events began through Willow Creek Church in the US, but the way that Isaiah Nshimirimana and his team have developed the gatherings has created a uniquely Burundian focus that informs and encourages leaders from local settings through to the top of the national government. The opportunity to teach and encourage people in these influential positions is extremely significant.

The summit in 2025 was held in 3 key cities in the country – Butanyerea, Bujumbura and Gitega –  to ensure that all leaders would be able to travel and engage with these essential teachings.

The delegates heard from what could be described as a who’s who of world inspirational communicators, including Graig Groeschel and John C. Maxwell.  These, alongside our own GLO inspirational leaders, Rev Onesphore Manirakiza (Antioch Foundation) and Dr Michel Nsabiyumva (CAPAMI), to name but a few.

The principal purpose of The Global Leadership Summit 2025 was to prepare leaders across Burundi to think boldly, serve faithfully, and influence their communities in a Christlike way.

GLS has become a vital tool for cultivating a healthy leadership mindset throughout the nation, equipping the delegates to lead with integrity, courage and vision, all informed by a Christ-centred heart
