Hi, I’m Peter and I am undertaking a 40-mile walk as a fundraiser for charity. I have chosen Great Lakes Outreach (GLO) as one of my charities.
I came across GLO about 18 months ago after reading a book by Simon Guillebaud. I am inspired by the transformation taking place in Burundi, in the lives of individuals and communities across the nation. A light shining in the heart of Africa! It’s exciting to be involved, even in a small way, like giving a small amount of money so that a child can go to school, a woman can learn to sew or a family can receive a microloan to start a business. In blessing others we find ourselves blessed.
GLO works in Burundi, central Africa which is one of the hungriest nations in the world. They equip the best local leaders of passion, integrity and gifting on a wide range of projects. Our partners are involved in a variety of work from humanitarian work and economic empowerment, to street children and education.
