Scripture Union Burundi (SU)
Scripture Union (SU) has been operating in Burundi for nearly four decades. It is one of the most credible and accepted movements in the country, as it works alongside churches to equip people in evangelism, Bible training and AIDS awareness. SU has two regional offices and works from them out into all the country. SU’s first mandate is to print the nation’s daily Bible-reading notes. Beyond that, SU runs youth camps, trains pastors in seminars, and spends weekends in the bush showing the Jesus film and visiting schools and churches.

Harvest for Christ (HFC)
Harvest for Christ (HFC) was founded by Onesphore Manirakiza, a trained lawyer who felt God’s call to raise a generation of passionate radical disciples, and thereby reach the whole of Burundi, and then beyond, with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The movement has become well-known internationally through the annual summer outreaches, when 600+ young evangelists are sent out for two weeks to preach the gospel, cast out demons, heal the sick, face persecution, etc. Tens of thousands are converted at these times. From their own website, www.harvestforchrist.net , the vision encompasses four areas: Evangelism and mission, Equipping the church, Peace and reconciliation, Building a movement of disciples. HFC are involved in holistic ministry amongst the marginalized Batwa (pygmies), incarnating the message by sending missionaries up to them, teaching them farming methologies, providing clean water, building a school and medical clinic to empower them, and more. See their website for more details.
Partners Trust International (PTI)
Partners Trust International (PTI) was founded by Emmanuel Ndikumana in 2009, and encompasses the Bujumbura International Community Church as well as theological training. The BICC is a fellowship of many nations, with a particular remit to model and teach expository Bible teaching, quality children’s work, and to equip churches throughout the nation. The Bible College is in its early stages and already denominational leaders have come to Emmanuel and asked him to train all their people, because they recognize that this is not yet another Western imported model and curriculum, but rather a contextually relevant and indigenous-driven movement. We believe it will be the most strategic vehicle for helping the Church in Burundi to grow in strength and depth, hence our partnership.
